Subject: hiarcs7.32's blundercheck mistake

Author: blass uri

Date: 10:21:14 04/12/00

I analyzed a game by blunder check only(10 seconds per move) of Hiarcs7.32 and
there is something strange in move 35 of Fritz6 old.

The evaluation of Hiarcs is 4.28 pawns for white after the game move but hiarcs
believes that 35.Re2 was a better move inspite of the fact that the evaluation
of 35.Re2 is only 1.21 pawns for white.

Hiarcs never considers 35.Re2 in regular game but if I give hiarcs7.32 some
seconds to analyze the position after 36...Kg8 and go back and analyze every
move for some seconds then hiarcs suddenly find the stupid 35.Re2
It seems that there is a learning bug in hiarcs7.32

Another problem is that hiarcs7.32 believes that a move is a blunder when it
leads to evaluation of mate instead of evaluation of 20 pawns disadvantage or
when you miss mate in 29 and prefer a move that is leading to 20 pawns
adavnatge.

Here is the relevant game analyzed by hiarcs7.32(The game is from sarah bird's
throwing bones tournament)

Time control of the game was 2 minutes/game
