Subject: Crafty vs Fritz 6 (Blitz games)

I just finished a blitz match between the newest Chessbase version of Crafty
17.10 and Fritz 6a. The results are furnished for those interested. Anyone
wanting a complete .cbv database of the 200 games can email me and mention if
you want the Crafty version or the Fritz 6a version.
I used the Crafty 17.10 from Chessbase with all default settings of the Fritz 6
GUI and allocated 64 Meg for Crafty hash tables to be used as the GUI pleases.
I gave Crafty 17.10 the Fritz 6a General.ctg opening book and Fritz 6a used the
same opening book. I also allowed Crafty to "Learn" from my latest database in
which there are about 700 blitz games played by crafty vs various opponents
before starting the match. Fritz used 16 Meg of hash tables. Fritz ran on a
PII-333 and Crafty ran on a K6-3-450. Time control was G/5 minutes. I have not
analyzed the games yet to determine if there are duplicates or time control
violations. The raw results are that Fritz 6a won +87 -47 =66 for a 60% score.
Both engines ran in the Fritz 6a GUI using auto232. The 200 games were played
continiously from yesterday to today.
