I have subscribed to Selective Search for 10 years.

It is very informative, and gives a good coverage of computer chess.

The reason I subscibe is that unless you read CCC every day, it is very easy to
miss something significant that has happened. The mags also act as a useful
historical reference (and general reference, with things like ELO calculation
tables, comprehensive lists of programmers + programs, etc in the Xmas edition).

The thing that annoys me a bit is the conspicuous bias towards more expensive
programs and equipment in the articles (though not in the rating tables). If you
can put up with that, it's worth giving it a try.
