I think your different results ar pure coincidence. For Hiarcs btw., it will not matter much at blitz settings, if it has 8 or 16 MB hash. You said Tiger's performance is better with smaller hash? Try it with some difficult combinations, i.e. sacrificing moves. I'm sure you'll notice that bigger hash supports the performance in general, especially if the program has a high node rate. But you should use more than 2 or 3 positions for this test, to avoid coincidential "anti-average" results.
