Can anyone give a definitive statement of what's going on, please ? Just to be more verbose on what I already wrote on this thread: The issue of fairness may be off the mark. It seems that the ICCA have overpriced the professional ticket. The fact that some professional cannot afford it is a case in point, but that's really not it. The question is whether it makes good business sense to pay $1000 for participation in this event. If not, why pay it even if you have money to spare ? If it's really worth the money, I'm sure Marty and Mark would have found it (If they were offered a full-page ad in PC Magazine for $1000, would they turn it down because they are broke ? Hell no). The ICCA may be forgetting that the difference between amateurs and professionals is not that amateurs are broke and professionals rich, but that professionals need to make expenditures on sound business reasons. If they don't, they are confusing between their business and their hobby. If they have partners, and their partners are not convinced that the event is worth it, those partners will be right to tell them to pay for it out of their private pockets. Amir
