PocketChess 1.1, on the other hand, plays Be4+ at the highest setting. I don't think PocketChess even knows how to underpromote - when you push a pawn to the 8th rank as a human, it doesn't give you that option. MacChess and Sigma Chess move in <1 second to underpromote and mate. Screamer, while it sees the mate in less than 0.1 second, uses its full 3 minutes to think, then plays f8=N#, the move it looked at all along.
