[D]3k2r1/5b2/2p5/rpPp1p1p/pP1PpPpP/P3P1P1/3K4/8 w - - 0 1 This is well known and will trap each chess computer with the same basic principle. Everybody here -no doubt- will know it. However it is as idiotic as the other position - but nice. Analyzing it freaks Fritz out from move to move. Here's another from a game I once played against Fritz (5.32). [D]8/8/8/1k3p1p/p2K1Pb1/P6p/7B/8 b - - 0 64 It could be I'm the dummy around, but IMO Fritz doesn't understand it to be a draw. This was my analysis then: 65...Kc6 66.Kc4 [66.Bg1 h2 67.Bxh2 h4 68.Kc4 Kd6 69.Kd4 Ke6 70.Kc5 (70.Bg1 h3 71.Bh2 Kf6 72.Ke3 Kg6 73.Kf2 Kh5 74.Kg3) 70...Kf6 71.Kd4 Kg6 72.Ke3 Kh5 73.Kf2 Bd1 74.Kg2 Kg4 75.Kf2 Kh3 76.Bg1 Bb3 77.Kf3 Bd1+ 78.Kf2 draw.] 66...Kd6 [66...Be2+ 67.Kd4 Bf1 68.Ke5 Bd3 69.Kd4 Be4] 67.Kd4 h4 68.Kc4 Ke6 69.Kd4 Kf6 70.Ke3 [70.Kc4 Kg6 71.Kb4 Bd1 72.Kc3 Kh5 73.Kd4 Kg4 4.Ke3 Bf3 75.Kf2 ] 70...Kg6 71.Kf2 Kh5 72.Ke3 Bd1 73.Kf2 Kg4 74.Ke3 Bf3 75.Kf2 draw -- Jeroen ;-} ------------------------------- the ChessBrat @: jimvandorp@wxs.nl http://zip.to/jeroen ICQ#45740870 -------------------------------
