I should add that BSF and BSR are extremely fast on P6's, PII's, PIII's,
Celerons, and the like, and beat out any C code that I've come up with,
but are extremely slow on older processors.  I don't remember exactly at
what point this change occurred, but I suspect that it came with the P6
and that plain Pentiums do these slowly--but I really don't know.  I
don't know how they do on the various AMD's either...
