One thing was clear: Almost ALL my fellow clubplayers are AGAINST this. At the moment there runs a fierce protest, not only by journalists, but also well known Dutch chessplayers and many many local chess clubs. Take a look at the special website www.schaakprotest.nl. At the moment people are sending their protest messages to the national dutch federation and this special website. It is absolutely clear that many chess players do not tolerate the behaviour of our national chess federation, the KNSB. One comment was: Don't turn the KNSB into FIDE..... Well, as far as I am concerned: This says enough! My own opinion on this matter is quite clear: Computers don't belong in national chess championships. By allowing this, my own national championship has turned into a Mickey Mouse competition. This must not be allowed. Period. If I were ChessBase, I would reconsider the participation. At the moment there is a lot of extremely negative publicity on this matter.
