Tinker does better against humans, but primarily for blitz. Some humans 200
points below Tinker seem to have a pretty easy time locking it up and beating it
in bullet, and of course at standard times positional weaknesses show up. Some
of this may be due to still having no book (e.g., taking too much time for
bullet openings and going down poor lines in standard). I have yet to find the
right combination of if(!computer...) eval and search options, and have so far
tried various blocked pawn and open file schemes with little success. I suspect
Crafty's 100 point difference is smaller in the rarified space of the very
strongest players (both computer and human) where Crafty usually plays, and that
the difference would be significantly greater for programs in the 2200-2600
range.
