Yes, thanks Bob for reminding me at this, I have known it (and even written about it), but I did not think of an US state now in this present context. Quoting other "secondary" sources, I wrote that it happened 1981 (?), in the Mississippi championship. If you want to take a look (it's in german): http://www.computerschach.de/einleit/kapitel1.htm#bewohner (from a computer chess history article, published by the CSS magazine) Of course I didn't know any details, i.e. that it caused an uproar... it seems the delay for repeating something in Europe, what happened in the US before, is longer as usual in this case.
