You're spoiled.  I've seen a VAX cluster that took over four hours to boot.
;-)

In fact, there seems to be some connection between boot time and robustness.
Win31 booted right away (1 or 2 seconds -- tops).  Can you say UAE?
Windows NT, with all my network connections, takes about 30 seconds to a minute.
FWIW, the Linux servers seem to take even longer.

I have never had to boot an MVS system -- they never stop running.
