I've seen a VAX cluster that took over four hours to boot. ;-) In fact, there seems to be some connection between boot time and robustness. Win31 booted right away (1 or 2 seconds -- tops). Can you say UAE? Windows NT, with all my network connections, takes about 30 seconds to a minute. FWIW, the Linux servers seem to take even longer. I have never had to boot an MVS system -- they never stop running. ;-)
