I still have not figured out why Microsoft has made no attempt to enter the Chess software market. Maybe Gates just realizes that maybe they're the wrong people for the market. On the other hand, I think a few CCC members have worked for MS... and yet, the only Chess program that's ever had their name on it was probably somebody's bad decision, although it's about on the parr with most of their desktop programs, but that's got to tell them something right there, like it's not good enough. Maybe it's best that they don't compete in the Chess software market, because they could swallow part of the market with no trouble at all, and they wouldn't even need to put out a serious contender to do it at first, the name MS would be all it would need to sell.
