I have an adjourned club game to analyze that involves 7 pieces: krpp v krp. I have Fritz6a software with an included Crafty engine. Both can use Nalimov endgame tablebase files, but the Fritz6a CD only contains up to 4-piece files. I need the following 3 EGTBs (Nalimov compressed): krrkr, kqrkr, krpkr I tried to use the Fritz6 EGTB generator software to create the first of these files on my 500Mhz PC, but after 12 hours I halted the generator. I have heard it may take days or even weeks to create the larger files and didn't know when the process would end. Now I am trying to locate a site where I can download the needed files. I can't seem to get into the Hyatt UAB site (down for construction, per home page), nor connect to the ftp site there for downloading. Where is the best site to download the files? (I am in Los Angeles, California, USA) Where exactly on the site are the files located? Do I need FTP software to download them? (I have beta version of WC_FTP Pro) What FTP software is best (easiest) to use? I'm trying freeware or free trial versions to begin with, but a commercial version is not out of the question. Thanks in advance for any provided help! --Steve Boak
