The steeplechase is a popular event and has been contested in the Olympics for
years.  Maybe people want to know who can run the fastest while having to jump
barriers and run through puddles!  Maybe chess fans would like to know which
player will win if everyone has to play a computer.

I do agree that including a computer in a tournament just as a tie-breaking
device among people seems somewhat silly.
