For the world of me I can't remember if it was FICS or ICC where I watched Gandalf in action and the finger notes said that Gandalf was in development, or something to that effect. No tablebases yet, etc. From what I saw, I can assure you that it was playing wonderful chess and was taking a Crafty clone's measure. On a couple of other occasions I watched it play again and confirmed my initial impressions: probably the strongest WB engine. I believe that it was Dan Wulf operating the program, but cannot remember much else :( Great to have you on my side when estimating the strength of SOS! *** Djordje
