In regards to the fritz5 games. I am curious as to what your Fritzmark
number
for the setup you played the games on was. I think it only fair if you
deprive the program of it's opening book to allow the engine at least a
Fritzmark of
100 to give it a fighting chance against you having an opening book
(Your Memory and chess experience) advantage.
You note 32 megs of ram was used. Was that the hashtable size or
the total amount of ram in the machine? By the way, according to the
equation used in the frit5 manual(pg.46), the lower boundary for
hashtable size for a pentium 150mHZ
machine with a 3 minute per move time control would be 54 megabytes.
I wonder if the engine was playing with a less than adequate
strength.
