Well, since several people have addressed the issue that your testing is incorrect because you test both programs on the same computer, and since you seem intent on ignoring the postings of Dr. Hyatt as to *all* of the many reasons why your testing is flawed, I'll point out a couiple of different issues. 1. Crafty (Actually Scrappy) has established a rating (in blitz) of 3333 on ICC over 4000+ games. How on earth can you say that this program is "not that strong" when it has established itself as clearly better than the best GMs on ICC, including several of the top 25 GMs in the world? The evidence is clear and overwhelming. 2. Perhaps you could find youself a nice quad Xeon to test both Fritz and Crafty on. I'm certain that your results would be different from your test. Since you obviously don't mind handicapping Crafty by playing on an inferior hardware platform, I would have to assume that you woudn't mind handicapping Fritz by playing on a very Crafty-friendly platform. For some reason you seem to have some kind of axe to grind regarding Crafty's strength. I'm not sure why, but it would seem logical for you yo attack something other than it's strength. It's only *too* obvious to all informed observers that your title "Crafty not that strong" is patently absurd, and primarily intended to start a flam war. Chris
