Does anyone know what is causing this? Some possiblities... First, when you start crafty does it say something like this: EPD Kit revision date: 1996.04.21 found computer opening book file [e:/crafty/release/bookc.bin]. using cpu time search time set to 9999.00. Crafty 17.10 vs ferret pondering enabled. EGTB cache memory = 6M bytes. hash table memory = 24M bytes. pawn hash table memory = 8M bytes. EGTB access enabled using tbpath=e:/crafty/release/tb,F:/KBP 4 piece tablebase files found 1302kb of RAM used for TB indices and decompression tables Crafty v17.10 White(1): Note (especially) the "4 piece tablebase files found" line, which in your case should say "5 piece tablebase files found" instead. One way to control how crafty finds things is with SET commands like this: SET CRAFTY_BOOK_PATH=e:/crafty/release SET CRAFTY_LOG_PATH=e:/crafty/release SET CRAFTY_RC_PATH=e:/crafty/release SET CRAFTY_TB_PATH=e:/crafty/release/tb,F:/KBP Or (better yet) use control panel to set them up. Assuming you can find and load the tablebase files, find a position that causes problems. Are you using multiple CPU's or a single CPU?
