I don't think you're right about that. There isn't enough games to make any
conclusion, except that Fritz6 appears to be stronger that Crafty 17.10 at
different timesettings with ponder off and without the use of an opening book.
If you assume that ponder off cripples Crafty. It would fair to assume that
importance of the time allocation problem would change from blitz to standard,
thereby rendering the comparison useless. The test with ponder on using two
machines would indeed be interesting, even though I can't see why Nunn positions
need to be used.
