Hi Eran, Running Rebel9 on a P166 MMX 13 Mb hash tables for 40/120 is slightly poor but will do a good job. 28 Mb hash is the best for optimal play. If you have a faster machine (say AMD-200/233) for optimal play to you must have at least 28 Mb but 60 Mb is the best choice. For future developments I plan to support bigger hash tables such as 128 and 256 Mb too. For Rebel9 it's not needed yet as 60 Mb is more than sufficient for the current fastest Pc's. The Rebel9 table for 40/120 looks like: 386/40 : 2 Mb 486/66 : 4 Mb P90 : 8 Mb P166 : 13 Mb P200 MMX : 28 Mb AMD 200/233 : 60 Mb PII/266(300): 60 Mb However if you want to do overnight analysis it is advised to set Rebel9 on the biggest hash table setting possible on your Pc. Keep in mind that the above figures are only valid for Rebel as other chess programs may have totally different schemes. - Ed Schroder - >Thank you, >Eran >Rebel8 Enduser
