Hasn't it been reported many times that Crafty under ChessBase runs roughly 3% faster than under Winboard? Somebody should play a match between the two incarnations. My bet is that the CB Crafty beats Winboard with a slight margin because of superior openings book and slightly higher speed. What I am unsure about is the multivariation feature of the CB-Crafty where people report oddities from time to time. But that is only used in analysis and not available in Winboard anyway. Jürgen.
