When I say d+2 I mean of course to d+2 or d+1 because mate threats are only with
odd numbers of moves.

Even seeing mate threats of only d plies when d is odd(if d+2 or d+1 when d is
even takes too much time even for chest) may be productive because crafty's
evaluation does not know if a position is a mate.
