I know that for most programs(fritz may be an exception) doubling the hash tables give only 6-7% improvement in speed(I assume that the time contol is slow enough so the program can use the hash tables). >3) Depends on the CPU speed. 200MHz and more Junior could request more, but for >you, me and many other chess players this is enough. :-) For 200Mhz at tournament time control the difference is probably less than 7% of speed and you can translate it to less than 5 elo.
