Sure, it is the "Fantamic Flitterwing" . Oh, and I gave the wrong
star, planet etc. One must go to Vega instead of Rigel in order
to find these puppets.

Btw, I recently purchased "Tales of the Dying Earth" which is a collection
of his early fantasy novels. I was delighted to see they reprinted these
excellent works. The best fantasy I am aware of.
