You know these nasty moderators here... :)) >Can you give us an idea of the average ply depth Rebel9 reaches in those >games, if it is not "top secret"? The new algorithm mainly starts to work on deeper ply depths (iterations). Till ply 8 Rebel9 is perhaps even slower than Rebel8. After that the new algorithm seems to function faster and faster (more pruning). Also on 1:00 I have seen 12-13 plies but those are of course the exceptions. It's mostly between 9-10. On 40/2:00 between 10-11. Exceptions: 14-15. >I begin to be glad not to see Rebel in Paris this year, because if Rebel >is good ALSO in fast chess, I'd better go back to tic-tac-toe (I wrote a >very strong TTT program, you know) :) Just saw your performance on the French championship, you did very well. Are you satisfied with your third place? And how does compare the top-3 programs of France with the rest of the world? First the battle was between USA, England and Holland. Now we feel the breath of Germany. Is France is on his way too? >But I hope to see you, because I'm one of your fans! Thank you. I indeed plan to visit the tournament for one day. - Ed Schroder - >- Christophe -
