Hi Peter, >How about posting a review on Amazon when you've read it? The March 2000 issue of the ICCA/ICGA Journal contains an independent 2-page review of the book by Dap Hartmann. The April/May 2000 issue of the German periodical "Computer-Schach & Spiele" carried an independent 3-page review of the book by Chrilly Donninger. Excerpts of both reviews are available on my WWW page about the book at http://supertech.lcs.mit.edu/~heinz/node1.html. >I'm interested in whether there is much new material in the book, or whether >most of the book has been published in the form of ICCA articles etc. A valid question: if you are looking for loads of new stuff as compared with my previous publications, you will be disappointed. The chapters feature many extensions to their previously published "ancestors", though. Relating to your question, Dap Hartmann states the following in his review. "Most of the material has already been published in the ICCA Journal or presented at the ACC9 conference. But the text has been expanded and two chapters and several appendices have been added. [...] I applaud Heinz's initiative to rework his ICCA articles and ACC conference contributions into this highly enjoyable book which turned out to be much more than the sum of the individual components." Hopefully, the above answers your question. =Ernst=
