You chose a dangerous set as for most chess programs using your tablebase set the prog will now not promote in a krpkr :-( Only exception I know by now is crafty that will check if tablebases are missing . So the first additional tablebases you need are the ones with the pawn promoted : krqkr , krbkr , krnkr Then ( if you still have space ) get the ones with the queens and the pawn ; kqpkq and the subsets . Queen Endings like those seem to happen surprisingly often in computer games and are very difficult to calculate because of the eternal checks. I guess if you _then_ still have space you could get some of the more freakish oneslike KBBKN : these happen rarely but if they do tablebases really help ;-) Hope this answered your question . pete
