My crafty clone is always playing two openings when playing another crafty with similar rating. As white A02 (Bird's Opening) As black C41 (Philidor's Defense) It seems odd that when playing this particular opponent it ALWAYS plays these openings, which is odd since Bird's Opening doesn't even get a positive eval in the beginning. It does win slightly more than it losses over a long string of games. Against human opponents it does not fall into this pattern. Is there a way to get crafty to play with more variety in the opening? It almost seems like crafty is set to study these 2 openings until it's exhausted all the possibilities, which I really doubt. This seems to be a general trait in any series of crafty vs. crafty games, that it oscillates between 2 and only 2 openings. Mark
