Jeroen,

In my case at least it is not that the magic of computer chess overrules any
other consideration, but that this issue about the Dutch chess federation and
the organization of the Dutch championship is far from clear to me. I know
little about it and I have few hopes of knowing more, since listening to both
sides from 1000 kilometers and without being involved seldom clarifies much.

I know that van der Sterren, Bosboom and initially van der Doel opposed the
participation of Fritz. It seems that the other eight participants in your
national Dutch championship do not oppose or reject playing a computer. So this
doesn't let me reach a more definite conclusion than saying that there seems to
be a strong discrepancy between some (?) (how many?) players and the Dutch
federation, that this decision of letting Fritz participate in the Dutch
national championship may have been adopted against the will of the majority (?)
of players. And that's all I know or as far as I can guess. As you see, not
much.

Now, how do you expect me or us to react in front of all this. Personally, I may
open a question mark about the whole issue, knowing that my questioning is
irrelevant. Meanwhile, I pay attention to the games.

Enrique
