I think Robert's numbers are reasonnable.

It's maybe possible to find better values, but it can be done only by
experimenting on your computer. Mine is slower than yours (K6-2 400MHz), so I
cannot say exactly what would work better with yours.

But you can use Robert's values, and you'll be close to optimal. For longer time
controls, if you can use more than 64Mb, then use as much as you can.
