Rebel drew in the last round of the Israeli league.
Fritz and Junior won other players(I do not remember their name and I think they
were not strong players)
Shredder lost on time in a winning position against another weak player.
The operator(rami tal) had to do other things like talking in the telephone
during the game.
Shredder used a time control of 100 minutes/40 moves based on the assumption
that a difference of 20 minutes is enough.
Rami tal explained after the game that changing the clock of shredder was
against the rules because the rules do not let to change the time control of the
computer during the game without telling it before the game so shredder had to
lose on time.
I talked with IM mittelman after the draw of Rebel.
He told me that he expected 12...Na5 and not 0-0
He also think that 17..e5 was a mistake.
He thought a long time because he was afraid from 18.dxe5 d4 and he said that
without 18...d4 there is no good reason for 17...e5
He also expected 20...Bg6 and I told him that Rebel considered 20...Bg6 but it
failed low because of 21.f4
I told him that the computer considered Nxd2 before it chose Nd6 and hw agreed
that it may be a better move relative to the game.
I told him that the computer expected 29.Rd2 instead of 29.Qd2 and he agreed
that it may be a better move but mittelman was in big time trouble when he
played 29.Qd2
He said that after Rd2 and Bf3 the best for black was to trade pieces and goto a
rook endgame with a pawn down when white probably cannot win it.
