Hi Sarah!
I was wondering if its possible for you take the trouble to run a
"reasonable amount" of games between fritz and crafty with the autoplayer made
by Remi (author of TCB). Since I now know that it is possible to make autoplayer
matched between chessbase GUI and Winboards, Its worth to make some tests. I
would rather do the test myself but i dont have the resouces (multiple cpus and
any experience with autoplayer), and since you have experience and resources and
interest with such kind of matches, thats why i made my request to you. But this
time the matches will be held not to prove "ponder=off" "ponder=on" related
stuff the whole purpose will be to see if craftys performance has any change
when it is "under chessbase GUI" and when its NOT under "chessbase GUI". I very
much believe that crafty's performance under chessbase GUI is not the same as it
is under winboard GUI, just like you believe that ponder=off doesnt effect
crafty more than any other programs ;). The game conditions can be NUNN
positions or programs using its own opening book, the time level can be
tournament time or just 30 mins per side, and ofcourse ponder=on (since its on 2
cpus), but the whole game conditions depends upon you, since you are taking the
trouble and using your energy (not to mention power bill!!) and your time, your
suggestion gets more priority :).
So what do you think sarah?
I am more interested about such results because SSDF is not using such
autoplayer even when its possible to make "spotless" games by using crafty under
winboard. And also the performance of crafty under Chessbase GUI is not
"officially" approved by the author himself, and many others like me who still
believes that its not fair.
thanks
Pavel.
ps, btw I think my english has improved a bit since i first came here ;)
