Actually, the sponsors hold the gold and they make the rules. That's why Fritz SSS is even playing in this tournament. Face it, GM's simply don't have marketable skills, to a large extent, other than to a limited segment of the populace. This places them at an extreme economic disadvantage in today's (somewhat) free market. They must rely on wealthy benefactors, patrons, and sponsors to a large extent. Gata Kamsky traded his extensive but unmarketable skills for lesser skills that are quite marketable; as have several other GM's that come to mind. Dan
