Let me add this. A very strong motive to tolerate the participation nof computers in tournament chess besides possible others is the financial motive, the money thing. Without joking I want to state that the interest of computer(chess) business to lance a computer into such tournaments is ok if the players then profit from a big sponsoring. Then it's good public relations for the business and a better lifetime for the players. I would also propose special prizes for the best games against computers or the longest game or the shortest. Many possible solutions. This should be done to motivate the players. In the Dutch championships the players profit no matter if they lose or win in great games. For me computers today belong to chess. All players use them and therefore why not let the business make profit for the benefit of chess again? One should not forget that most players are happy to have such strong training partners at home. But let me be also clear about this, computers shouldn't become champions of Holland or other countries. And the participation should be restricted to one computer in a tournament. Hans
