I don't think this was an invited event anyway. Most "national championships" are not... entry is sometimes restricted to residents, sometimes not. Here I agree. dollars (or guilders in this case) spoke loudly. And I don't think that is a bad thing when you consider it does nothing but put _more_ money into GM chess..
