I'm not sure of _anything_ here.  Everyone seems to be saying he was playing for
a win.  _I_ believe he was.  I have _always_ believed he was.  Why?  Because if
he wasn't, he would have accepted the draw offer, said "thank you" and signed
the score sheet and left politely.

Is that hard to follow?

By rejecting the draw offer initially, he said (to me) "I am playing for a win."
Only an idiot would be trying to draw and then reject a draw offer.

(PS I do assume he wasn't playing for a _loss_).
