This would make chess a respectable venture. This is what the general public wants, the sponsors will pay for, and media will publish. Any other professional venture would go where the bucks are. I predict most GM's will walk away, except for a few individuals that see a good opportunity. Professional chess will continue to be a nickel and dime operation. Computers and Fast time controls add a little excitement that would produce interest. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
