How do we suppose that CSTal manages to choose such good openings? Do we think that there is an ingenious new algortithm for opening selection, or is it just the sheer size of the opening book? I think it is probably down to the sheer size of the opening book. Do any other programs have an opening book of CSTal's size? (circa 250 million moves).
