Might be wrong but I think he means that, in the past, there were more user-related chess software information here. We probably miss contributions like Komputer Korner used to bring to this forum. Now, the user-side interest has shifted from commercial products to things like winboard engines and there is an independant forum for this. It is maybe one of the reasons why we do not see much of these posts here anymore. Many of us have been registered on CCC for years and it is obvious to me that the forum has changed a lot (not necessarilly in a bad way). Ujecrh
