Activate SMARTDRV immediately.

On your Pc Rebel 9.0 will have 28 Hash anyway so you will have
only advantages and no single negative side effect.

Disk cache programs are a must by extensive hard disk usage.
Speedup of 500-600% guaranteed...

I have no explanation either.
But Rebel is a Rebel, and without any cause... :))

You are most welcome of course.
But tell me why do you run Rebel9 in pure DOS mode?
Why not on Win 95?

Launching Rebel9 on W95 you still have 28 Mb hash and the speed loss is
only 3-5% because W95 is in charge. So much more convenient IMO.
