Yes. I also noticed that when you have to explain things, it helps you to
understand them better.

A long time ago, when I was a student in IT, I have spent a lot of time with
other students, helping them to find bugs in their sources (Cobol, Fortran and
Pascal mainly). At that time, I already had several years of programming
experience.

I discovered that doing so helped me tremendously to write better code, and to
find my own bugs faster.

To my own surprise, working with beginners has been a very good experience for
me.
