Hi, There are several reasons why people here don't join as a ICCA member. My reasons are quite different from others. I've just passed the moment of confusion about alpha-beta algorithm. I read some ICCA papers that can be downloaded and found that those complicated experiments, tournament results were not useful to me. I and most beginners need basic knowledge more than these stuff. I do agree some papers are good and and interesting. Will I buy all back issues? From cost/benefit I decide not to buy them . What do I want from ICCA journal ? If possible,I want a_collection_of_good review articles in important topics eg. board presentation, move generation, hash table etc. Why ? I know all authors of ICCA journal are great computer chess programmers, but I guess not all of their articles are good. To write a good article is another kind of skill. And I believe some old articles are worth to be reprinted. So,it would be easier to read only selected articles on the same topic even though they were not originally printed at the same year. It may look like "Computer Chess Study Course in.... for beginner ". If you can contact board of ICCA, please tell them about my suggestions. I know it is difficult to reprint some articles and then reunite into a new book. To me a good quality of photocopy is acceptable but I think they should lower the price as much as possible because (my hypothesis ) nearly all CCC member are poor students and still looking for a job programmers :). Regards, Teerapong
