As a matter of fact, the spelling used (Haloween) is not so much at odds with
the old spelling of the head noun (<halow, cf. _1489 Caxton Sonnes of Aymon iii.
99, I swere you vpon all halowes. Ibid. xix. 418, I swere to you, sire, by all
halowen; 1596 Dalrymple tr. Leslie's Hist. Scot. ix. 200 Jn Edr vpon a [= a']
Halow day, rais sik a wind and wethir; or a later example: 1795 Macpherson
Wyntoun's Cron. Gloss., Halow-fair is held on the day of all saints; )

Of course, the suffix (-en) could be confusing, but it is only an abbreviation
for All-Hallow-Even (e'en) and as such can be ignored in the modern version of
the spelling...

Frederic, you asked for it :-)
