No I'm not sure.  I've re-read the article (July 2000 PC Pro) and it only states
that Windows ME will still have 16 bit DOS but there will not be an option to
restart in MSDOS mode.  HIARCS used this to gain maximum hash tables - so I
don't know if it will be compatible or not.

I doubt it as ChessBase would no doubt want a cut since it would effectively
have a ChessBase engine.

Anyway all of this is just speculation - I'm a great HIARCS fan and am looking
forward to future versions!
