[D]r1q2rk1/2pb1ppp/ppnp1n2/4pP2/P1P1P3/2PP2PP/4N1B1/R1BQK2R w KQ - In this position, Van Wely played 15.g4 and went on to record a fine victory. I wonder how many programs can find g4 here? I've tried it with my program but after a few minutes it still prefers O-O, I'll leave it running over night but I'm not optimistic. I'm guessing that most programs won't like g4 because it weakens the kingside, but of course white has such a strong central grip here that he can afford to start kingside operations. Moves like O-O and Be3 are not bad but I think g4 is best. cheers, Peter
