I agree that there should not be a whole bunch of messages on this topic.

However, I contend two things:

1) There were 4 posts on the topic, and now this is the 2nd post on the
moderation of whether it is topical or not. A total of 6 posts when all I wanted
was to see if anyone could solve the problem for my chess program. We have
people go off with jokes for a half dozen posts virtually every week here where
their jokes have NOTHING to do with a chess program.

2) If someone was running Fritz and could not get it to run and the eventual
reason discovered was that they had a hardware problem which was hard to detect,
I am CERTAIN that a 50 post thread with suggestions on how to diagnose their
system in order to get Fritz up and running again would be allowed. ESPECIALLY
if all of their other software worked, but Fritz didn't (since it is more CPU
intensive).

Just my opinion of course. From my point of view, anything related to computer
chess should be allowed and specifically from my point of view, getting past a
bug in my chess program is VERY computer chess related.

IMHO.

KarinsDad :)

PS. Before posting it, I scoured MSDN for an answer. If I got no results here, I
was then going to go elsewhere on the net. I just thought there was a slim
chance that one of the programming gurus here would have run into something
similar or that someone could point me to a good C++ site (I should have asked
that in my first post, but the ol' brain pan wasn't working too well).

PSS. Dave, thanks for the info on comp.lang.c++.moderated. Information like that
is another reason for coming here second.
