Frank, I had the same frustration with Fritz6a, but wasn't willing to go back to 5.32 which didn't do this. As a workaround, rather than use the traditional 'Long Game' time controls (e.g. 40 in X, 20 in x, game in x), I start a 'Blitz Game' first. Under Blitz time controls, you have the option to give the human player more time (a 'Human Bonus') than the computer. After setting the time controls and clicking 'OK', start a new 'Rated Game' and it will use the Blitz time controls. As an example, I'll set the Blitz time controls to 60 min. per game and 120 minutes for the human bonus. This will give me 180 minutes total and limit Fritz to 60 minutes. You could also set the game as 30 minutes and give yourself a 150 minutes bonus so that Fritz would have 30 minutes and the player, 180 minutes. While it may be more 'realistic' for Fritz to take more time than it needs for a move in an effort to simulate a tournament game against another human, it would be nice to have the ability to turn this feature off if we want and have Fritz 6a only take the time that it needs as it did under 5.32. If you find a way to give a human bonus in Frtiz 6a under 'Long Game' time controls, let me know. Frank Koenig
