I do not think that the various "test position" threads relate
to anything like "brilliance" in any way. People hail and condemn
various programs all the time -- no big deal ...

What caught my eye in this special case, though, was the huge
negative evaluation of "Crafty" and "Hossa" as reported early
in the thread. Both are due to severe evaluation errors IMHO.

Moreover, I am convinced that well-tuned search extensions for
pushes of passed Pawns are extremely important here (as I
already mentioned). Without them, chances to see through the
maze are very low for any chess program.
