This afternoon i was watching "Jouer sa vie",a 1982 movie documentary about chess in general and the karpov-korchnoi match in particular.In one segment they interviewed Ken Thompson who said clearly "at this time the computer is analysing about 300000 positions".My my...how things have changed!Makes you wonder where we'll be in 2020.
